How my sessions work.
However long and bumpy the road may feel you are not alone, I am a professional counsellor offering personalised, confidential, and compassionate support through video and telephone sessions.My approach is designed to provide a safe and accessible environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and challenges, regardless of location.
Video call sessions provide a face-to-face experience in a deeper connection and engagement.
Telephone counselling is a convenient and flexible support for clients who prefer voice-only communication.
Key Features of My Practice.
I use a person centred approach, ensuring each session is tailored to your unique needs and goals. I integrate techniques from:
Counselling:
I may ask to take some information such as your name, date of birth, email address, telephone contact numbers, occupation, medical history and GP's name and contact details. I may discuss what kind of counselling you are looking for and the background to this.
Each session will take to upto 60 minutes. I will discuss with you on the initial session of how many sessions will be required.
Before each session I will send out an email which will have all the information such as counselling agreement ( contract) that we will make together. It will also include session fees and ways to pay.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): To identify and challenge negative patterns using tools such as Exploring worksheets together and maybe having some homework to challenge those negative patterns.
Mindfulness Practices: To improve emotional regulation and reduce stress. This can be using meditation exercises, mindfulness, visualisation and breathing techniques.
Solution Focused Therapy: To work collaboratively on achieving tangible outcomes. This will include focusing on strengths and resources, setting small achievable targets.
Child and Young people Counselling:
This form of therapy is know to benefit more though using creative, playful resources to support non-verbal communication and items to help them share, explore and express their thoughts, feelings and emotions.
